Getting to Ssese Islands

By Ferry

The most common way to reach the islands is by ferry from Entebbe or Bukakata:

  • MV Kalangala: Daily ferry from Entebbe (3.5 hours)
  • MV Pearl: From Bukakata (1.5 hours) near Masaka

By Road & Boat

Drive to Bukakata or Lutoboka and take a shorter ferry ride:

  • Kampala to Bukakata: ~120km (3 hours)
  • Bukakata to Bugala Island: 1.5 hours by ferry
